FPL chips in 2026/27: two of each, and when the first set runs out

You get two Wildcards, two Free Hits, two Bench Boosts and two Triple Captains. The first set has to be used by Gameweek 19; the second set is for Gameweek 20 onwards.

The chips

Wildcard: unlimited free transfers for one gameweek. The changes are permanent
Free Hit: unlimited free transfers for one gameweek. Your team goes back to how it was the week after
Bench Boost: the points from your four substitutes count that gameweek
Triple Captain: your captain scores triple instead of double that gameweek

How many chips do you get?

Two of each chip, as in 2025/26: one set for the first half of the season and one for the second.

First set: Bench Boost and Triple Captain from Gameweek 1, Wildcard and Free Hit from Gameweek 2, all up to Gameweek 19
Second set: all four chips from Gameweek 20 to Gameweek 38

When do FPL chips reset?

The first set must be played by Gameweek 19. FPL's current fixture data puts the Gameweek 19 deadline on 1 January 2027 at 18:30 UK time and the Gameweek 20 deadline on 5 January 2027. Check the FPL site nearer the time in case fixtures move.

First-half chips do not carry over. Any you have not used by the Gameweek 19 deadline are lost, so plan them in.

Planning your first set

Unless a double gameweek is announced in the first half, there is less to wait for. A Bench Boost and Triple Captain on strong single fixtures before Gameweek 19 are worth more than chips that expire unused.

Play only one chip a week and space them out, so a Wildcard can set up the bench you later Bench Boost.
