FPL double gameweeks 2026/27: are any coming up?

A double gameweek is when a team plays twice in one gameweek; a blank is when it doesn't play at all. The live check below reads the official FPL fixture list every few hours, so you can see straight away whether any are confirmed.

No double or blank gameweeks right now

As of 8 November 2026, there are no double or blank gameweeks from Gameweek 10 to Gameweek 38 in the official FPL fixture list.

Checked 380 fixtures, Gameweek 10–38. Refreshed every few hours from the official game.

What they are

In a double gameweek, one or more teams play two matches, so their players can score twice. In a blank gameweek, one or more teams have no match, so their players score nothing.

Both happen when matches are postponed or moved, usually because of cup fixtures or weather, and are then rescheduled into another gameweek.

Are there any double gameweeks coming up?

The live check at the top of this page answers this for today. It reads every fixture in the official FPL game and lists any team that plays twice, or not at all, in a remaining gameweek.

A double only exists once a match has actually been moved. Until then, any 'predicted double' you see quoted is a guess, so don't plan transfers or chips around it.

Any double gameweeks in the first half of the season?

Doubles before Christmas are rare. A postponed match needs a free midweek to be replayed, and early-season midweeks are mostly taken by European and League Cup ties.

Most doubles and blanks arrive after the turn of the year, when cup rounds clash with league weekends.

Why doubles and blanks happen

When a club has a cup match on a league weekend, its league match is moved. That gameweek becomes a blank for both clubs. When the match is replayed in another gameweek, those two clubs get a double.

Bad weather, safety issues and other postponements work the same way: one blank now, one double later.

How to plan for them

  • Free Hit for big blanks, so you can field a full eleven for one week
  • Bench Boost and Triple Captain for big doubles
  • A Wildcard a week or two before a double lets you load up on teams that play twice
  • Rolling free transfers gives you room to move when doubles are announced at short notice

Doubles and the first-half chips

Your first set of chips expires at Gameweek 19: Bench Boost and Triple Captain can be played from Gameweek 1, Wildcard and Free Hit from Gameweek 2. A chip you haven't used by then is lost.

If the live check still shows no doubles by mid-December, play your first-half chips in strong single gameweeks rather than letting them expire. Save the second set for the doubles that usually come later.
